About us

Purposeful Learning Place is here to provide a creative alternative; a supplemental tutoring center that supports families and offers educational opportunities that are either lacking, inconsistent, or downright absent in public schools.

My name is Ashley, and after being a public-school teacher for close to 10 years, I became more and more aware that the world of education should not be limited to a public, government system. I struggled with the realization that responsibilities of teaching our children about the world in which they live, for so many years, has been laid upon the government, while authority has subsequently been stripped from families.

Because of who we are created to be, and the significance God has established on the family unit, family as a foundational building block for education is crucial. Through these years in public education God began stirring in my heart a desire to somehow use my passion for teaching to actually support families in their own education journey, while also providing an environment that offers practical, real life education opportunities that adhere to God's standard.  

My goal is to offer educational supports and opportunities, whether it's small group, fun, engaging classes, or 1-on-1 intentional support for children struggling academically. 

Purposeful Learning Place is NOT intended to be a replacement for core education, but rather a supplemental learning experience, where children can receive extra 1-on-1 academic support if needed, and/or connect with others their age in a unique setting, while engaging in real life, real world, learning opportunities stemming from a Biblical foundation.
